General Info
Aztec Animal Clinic was founded in 1990 and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The original establishment has grown from one veterinarian and a staff of two, to six doctors and a support staff of 20. Our facility, completed in June of 1998, is more than twice the size of our former location. At 5,500 square feet, the new Aztec Animal Clinic spaciously satisfies our doctors, support staff, and our many clients. At Aztec Animal Clinic we provide the most up-to-date care for your pets. Our high standards apply to every aspect of our clinic, including the experience and training of our professional staff and our modern equipment and facilities. We treat your pets as if they were our own. We appreciate your trust in allowing us to care for your family’s pets.

I heard that they were good from a friend, but my experience is that they run expensive and unnecessary tests. They also wanted to rush my elderly dog into surgery to cut off a growth to send it for extensive testing. However I felt surgery was highly risky to a dog of her age without any clear benefit. I will be switching to another down to earth veterinarian that understands that I want what is best for my dog, but I'm not willing to pay hundreds of dollars every visit to get it.
They are pricey, but they are the best. Even called two days after our visit to make sure my cat was doing okay. It's worth paying the extra money to know your animal is being well cared for. They also don't give your animal unnecessary medicine. I consider them my permanent vet.
They are way overpriced. I paid a $49 fee just for them to look at my cat every visit, plus the cost of each shot, lab test, etc., It took them 2 lab tests to figure out that she had giardia, and on top of all that, not one of the vets there could tell why she was coughing all the time, they never even bothered to look in her mouth or anything. I got fed up, took her to another vet in town who knew immediately why she was coughing (and bothered to look in her mouth), and only charged me $20, the cost of the steroid shot. Turns out my cat has a very common cat condition that is treatable with steroids. I strongly do not recommend this place.
Very caring and helpful doctors and staff. They have taken excellent care of my animals for years. I recommend them highly.
