With their thorough cleaning process, Downtown Cleaners brightened up my wardrobe!!! The staff was friendly and very hospitable, they made my clothes look refreshed and clean. I'll definitely recommend them!

While I enjoy supporting local businesses such as Downtown Cleaners, I have come to find the real cost of using their services. I first went to this dry cleaner out of convenience since they are located next to my building and they promptly lost one of my favorite shirts. In the age of computers and electronic ticketing I am not even sure how that is possible but they offered me $25 to replace an $80 Brooks Brothers dress shirt (they claimed it was not their fault and often customers get confused.)



While I swore to everyone who would listen that I would never use them again I had an out of town wedding this past weekend and needed a suit dry same-day dry cleaned on a Friday, so reluctantly I went back, half expecting my suit to also be misplaced. I was able to pick up my suit later that day without incident, but when I took my suit off the hanger to put it on Saturday morning for the wedding there was a GIANT hole along inseam (8in long with tears in the fabric.) Aside from the fact that I was late to a wedding as I stopped to purchase a set of dress pants, the real problem is that once again the cleaners accepted NO responsibility for ruining a 1 month old Kenneth Cole suit! I mention the brand because this was not some cheap Sears suit that could be expected to be worn through in a few months rather it was a nice suit that is now ruined since whatever they snagged the pants on sliced right through fabric and pulled out the seam.



The cleaners would take no responsibility even though the damage had clearly occurred while it was in their possession, nor would they even go so far as to refund the cost of the cleaning because as she said "they had also cleaned the jacket." The reality is they took me to the cleaners, and I now have a very expensive Kenneth Cole blazer.
