We recently contacted Glenda Herrin as we were having separation anxiety problems with our Golden Retriever who had been rescued from Juarez. Annie was nervous, had no knowledge of basic commands, and was somewhat fearful of going for walks. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable and current in positive techniques of animal training, Glenda Herrin was kind, compassionate, and a woman who obviously enjoys and excels in the work that she is doing. She was patient in teaching us how to best work with Annie in order to correct some of her problems, and help her in learning some basic commands. I highly recommend Heeling Hounds and would not hesitate to again contact Glenda for help if other problems were to arise. Her rates are furthermore, very reasonable.

Very professional and helpful

Glenda is a knowledgeable professional who brings practical insights and advice even to long time pet owners. Our problem was somewhat unique and she gave us much more than our money's worth. Her focus on the total picture was extremely welcome and she was able to make concrete recommendations in a short time. I highly recommend this basic training experience for all dog owners.

El Paso's only humane, gentle trainer?

Heeling Hounds owner Glenda Herrin prides herself on using gentle and humane methods in working with dogs, and as she explained to us, likes to work with dogs "from the inside out." This method allows them to use their brains, rather than forcing the dogs to do what we want using physical force, punishment, shouting, or hitting. We learned that dogs that are trained using punishment-based methods end up just giving up and not trying any new behaviors because that might get them a smack on the head or worse. Our pit bull responded beautifully to her methods, and we learned a lot about how to speak with him in "dog language" rather than trying to use human language.
