On January 2nd, 2015 my wife and I took her previously appraised $8,500 heirloom antique diamond solitaire in a yellow gold setting into the KAY Jewelers at Everett Mall to simply have the band repaired. Long story short, on January 21st, Kay handed us back our diamond with a totally different, ugly contemporary ring setting of nickel alloy, not gold, worth a fraction of the value of the antique setting that we left with them. They made my wife sign for it before showing it to us! It looked like a totally different ring and we were mortified. Now, KAY will not give us our antique gold setting back with its enormous sentimental value to my wife: It was her mother's engagement ring, and that is all that my wife now has left of her. The people at Kays are cold, heartless, lying criminals, to put it bluntly. They falsely claim that they gave us back the ring and setting that we took in to them which is utter fraud. Three Kay employees have now told us that Kay merely coated our gold setting with silver-colored rhodium “to make the diamond look bigger” and that our gold ring setting sits below it (twice in writing and once by voice mail). This is utterly a fraudulent, criminal lie repeated by three Kay employees. This is nothing less than conspiracy to commit felony grand theft by fraud, a Class A felony. Beware of the many criminals at Kay Jewelers at Everett Mall that you will be dealing with if you ever do business with them. Just don’t !!!
