General Info
Our vision at Animal Humane Society is to compassionately and responsibly create a more humane world for animals. As a founding member of Minnesota Partnership for Animal Welfare (MnPAW) coalition, we are proud to work together with nine other animal welfare groups across Minnesota to ensure a home for every healthy and treatable companion animal in the state. MnPAW believes that by joining forces to use its ideas, expertise and resources in a coordinated way it can make a greater impact on reducing euthanasia of adoptable animals. Provided by YP.comWe'll definitely return. Tried really hard to adopt a puppy-mill Pit Bull that we fell in love with. The staff was patient, answered all questions (& suggested a few we hadn't thought of), gave us oodles of time & then suggested we check with our homeowners ins co to see if having a Pit would be a problem BEFORE we took him home. Excited, we called ins co - they said they'd have to CANCEL our home policy IF we brought home a pit or rottweiler. Even a puppy who HAS NO history!! Devastated & in tears, we called back to say we could NOT take the chance of losing our insurance. But we'll KEEP trying, returning again to the GV shelter to find the perfect new family member of the "insurance eligible" kind. It was a painful lesson, but they were SO RIGHT to suggest we do the work BEFORE taking home the puppy. KUDOS!!

Provided by DexKnowsIm so grateful to our shelter in Coon Rapids. Not only for the care of the Animals but it's the overall love that is there. I see and smell and feel a clean well kept building, and mostly the biggest change from old to new building is the warmth. And within those walls I fell in love. She is nine weeks old and a bundle of joy and yes even challenges. (true with all things in life.) I want to say with all of my heart THANK YOU!. also to every single person who donates- time, money and health care, and to foster familys everywhere out there in this sometimes seemingly uncaring world,THANK YOU, THANK YOU. May you be BLESSED this new year with abundance. I hope and pray that maybe some day all people will learn how important it is to spay and neuter. And again a genuine greatfullness to the COON RAPIDS ANIMAL HUMANE SOCIETY. You are wonderful. Peace.
