General Info

Scott W. Stern has integrated empowerment techniques into his private practice for over 20 years. He is an expert in the treatment of addictions, anxiety, OCD, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress. He is an award winning author, editor and subject matter matter expert. He also provides training and clinical supervision to other behavioral health professionals. Prior to establishing his private practice, he was educated at New York University, UC Berkeley and Harvard University. He trained in psychiatry and addiction treatment at major New York City medical centers and private clinics. He has treated adults, adolescents and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He is a recurring lecturer of the NASW Addictions Committee in New York City. He is former Contractor/Care Ambassador and Team Lead at the CDC in Atlanta and New York City. He is a practicing psychotherapist, award winning writer and public speaker for government, private sector and nonprofit organizations. He has served as a district examiner to substance abuse counselors for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
