Great place to shoot but very disappointed when they told me they only give the first responder(s) discount to the police and firefighters. I was almost positive paramedics were first responders as well. This was insulting.

My first time at a shooting range. For me I thought it was a good time. Ammo was a bit higher than other stores, if I'd been prepared...the range is inside and it was cold but it was colder out side SO I was wearing a jacket already. Staff was friendly enough (no complaints here).

This was the first time I visited Red's and I am very impressed with the knowledge, which they should have, of the sales persons there. Brook was absolutely wonderful, helpful and knows her stuff. I will be starting tomorrow with new instructions since it's been too many years of not handling a weapon. I am looking forward to a wonderful experience. I even bought my first 2 boxes of ammo. Respectfully, Sassi

Professional is an understatement!

Reds north is by far the best range I've ever shot at. With a wide variety of guns both for sale and for rent, you're able to test out the model of gun you want to buy before you buy it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They know what they're talking about, many of them former military. For first time shooters and experienced ones both, I would highly recommend trying the range, you won't be disappointed.

First - AND LAST - Time to Go ...

First - AND LAST - Time to Go Here

Went with my parents and brother this morning. The clerk at the register was quite helpful and pleasant. That all changed when we got to our lane.

My mother is a slightly-above-novice shooter, especially with semi-auto pistols.

While I was loading magazines, one of the rangemasters came up to practically yell that, YOU CANNOT LOAD A GUN FOR SOMEONE ELSE! Ok, no problem. I was a shooting instructor once. Some ranges have different rules - No big deal. I talked my mother through loading and firing.

We brought 6 pistols to shoot. A .380, a 9mm and several .40s. We had the ones we weren't shooting in their hardcases in a pile behind us along the wall. The same rangemaster yelled, NO LOADED WEAPONS BEHIND MY RED LINE! Ok, got it. They WEREN'T loaded.

This same rangemaster then went off on my father by pointing at a sign and yelling CAN YOU READ??

Trying to calm the situation down, I told my Dad to bring everything up from the far wall to our stall. I smiled to the rangemaster and said You are correct, thank you. We will handle it. Our mistake.

Well, then it was my turn for some abuse. I fired a Glock .40. When empty, I dropped the magazine, performed a safety check, had the slide locked to the rear and the barrel pointed in a safe direction. I stepped to the left one stall and was well within the red line with a safe, empty pistol so that someone else could shoot.

This is when rangemaster became unglued. She came over, now literally screaming. Had she not been wearing dark sunglasses, I'm fairly sure I would have seen her eyes bulging out. DO NOT MOVE FROM LANE TO LANE WITH A LOADED WEAPON!!!

Loaded weapon? Uh... The slide was locked to the rear and no magazine was in the weapon... So... No. And the clerk up front told us to spread out if we needed since our side was practically empty.

She is pointing wildly, screaming about the RULES OF MY RANGE and so forth. She is approaching meltdown phase.

Rangemaster then got a manager. She railed for a while. The manager didn't say anything. He just stared at her, then us, then back to her.

I had enough. I had a feeling that nothing we did would spare us from spittle and yelling.

We packed up and calmly left.

While checking out, I asked to speak to a manager. The clerk pointed me to a disinterested guy eating behind a glass counter. I pulled him off to the side and quietly explained what happened. I also said that I am not going to make a scene in front of your other customers, but this was very unprofessional.

He said something about, well, we have rules.

I replied that I understand rules, I really do. However, I also said that I expect a little more professionalism. He pretty much blew me off and went back to eating.

I've fired on various ranges all over the world for years and years. This is - by far - the most unprofessional range staff of them all.

Our First Experience

We went to Reds as a family of novice to inexperienced marksmen that had never visited the facility. A bit intimidated of both shooting the guns (my wife and son have never shot before) and what type of atmosphere we were to encounter, we slinked in through the door....We were greeted warmly, given a great introduction into what to shoot, explanations about everything to expect--certainly not what we anticipated. We chose the 9mm, and we will be back soon for the AR15. Thanks to everyone at Reds for making us feel at home and getting us hooked on our new hobby. We would recommend to anyone thinking about, but hesitant, to try their hand at target shooting, get out there and do it! If it's your first time, do it at Reds--they'll keep you coming back!
