I walked in to see the only employee eating popcorn. She told us to wait for the manager to come back to the store. I then asked her to ring us up while we wait because we had a deadline to get the stuff we needed to haul. Instead of ringing us immediately she simply sat there and watched TV when the manager came he had to ask us what we were here for we told him we were picking up a trailer for vehicle towing, then I insisted on the older grey model because that’s what I was recommended by the person I placed the order with over the phone. I then waited 70 min for him to get the trailer on top of the 20min wait for him to arrive. At that time the employ taking care of the computer refused to ring us up until she waited on another customer who was renting a van. After that she started to process our rental about 10 min after the trailer was set up and on the truck. About 2 min threw processing the order she stopped to wait on 2 costumers buying towing accessories. I then asked the manager if he could possible speed up the process because we had been waiting 2 hours for a trailer on the property. We walked out to see what to my eyes was the wrong trailer a red narrow one. I then asked if this is the correct trailer and gave him the width of the vehicle being towed and he said it was right. We received no instruction on fenders and tie down.



I asked the manager for a reason of the extremely long weight for a trailer that had been rented 2 days in advance and he replied with “well I don’t see any problem here and I don’t believe you do either so be on your way and drive safe. I hope you know how to haul a load” to me and my hired driver with a CDL and certification in towing. He then made another comment “my employee had no problem either be on your way”



Getting the vehicle on the trailer was extremely difficult and the vehicle rode on the walls along the “bed” of the trailer and a bolt caused deep abrasions to my vehicle and ripped one wheel clean open. My vehicle was left over hanging on both sides of the trailer. With flattened tires the vehicle was stuck on the trailer for 3 hours and required 2 winches to remove it with out any more damage being done.



After returning the trailer I realized there is a Penske truck and trailer right down the street. They now will receive all my renting needs with vehicle transports being a biannual occurrence, plus now the need for larger trucks to outsource some vehicle parts.



The rudeness I received and the mistake in trailer were completely unacceptable and un educated people like uhauls employs should not be risking peoples lives and property with mistakes in rentals and horrible service.
