Decided to try Bourbon St. Seafood restaurant again, though we had not enjoyed the service or the food last time we went, about six months ago. So we ushered in December (2013) and the holiday season by going there for drinks and dinner. Such a mistake. The whole evening was a disaster. There was a big sign outside that welcomed us to 'happy hour,' but inside after we were seated and ordered our wine, we were told that the happy hour did not include customers who were seated in the dining part of the restaurant. When our food came, my plate of stuffed crab consisted of two tiny crab shells with about a tablespoon of crab salad in each. I wasn't too upset, though, because the crab mixture wasn't very good. The rest of the plate was mounded high with skinny fried potato strings that tasted faintly familiar, like the ones we used to buy in a tin can at the grocery store.
