Really Gross

I went to this restaurant yesterday and was really grossed out. I walked into the back room to be seated and it was musky and stale. The floors were really dirty, too. I was scared to eat, but was with a large party so ordered anyway. The food was mediocre, and overpriced. Also, the waiter was unpleasant and not very friendly at all. This experience is really shocking since I was told the location on Babcock is really nice. I saw a "for sale" sign on the roof of the building, so hopefully the Bandera location is shutting down.

I read a lot of reviews for this place, and I'm really confused. Could it be that all of people went to a different place? It is well-lit and has an excellent location. Two of us eating dinner amounted to $30, and we did not consume any alcohol... I am thinking that it is really overpriced. And the quality of the food? Queso that came directly out of a can, LITERALLY. Chips that were bagged and on the stale side. And they CHARGE for chips? Enchiladas that rival Patio frozen entrees and mushroom tacos that had canned mushrooms, again literally taken directly from the can. Service was pretty good, but given that I didn't even finish a whole taco on a plate of 3, and we asked for the check, I would have thought a manager would have come out to find out if everything was alright. So many choices here, I won't recommend this place to anyone, and we won't be back EVER.

Favorite Restaurant

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. I bring all my friends and family here when they come from out of town.
