Provided by YP.comMy friend had breast cancer and went to see a Dr. R. Waide Weaver. I attended a doctors apt. with my friend who is in her early 40's. She has 2 children still under her care-6 yrs. old and a 20yr. old. She had her left breast removed as well as 4 rounds of kemotherapy. She was in extreme pain and was given vicodin 5/500. She explained to him this was not working and needed something stronger to just get by (i.e. cooking her sons dinner, cleaning, etc..). A nurse, not the doctor, explained to her that vicodin is addicative and they wouldn't be giving her any medications. Basically saying she's an addict and the entire office treated her as such. Personally, i have chronic pain from a variety of medical issues and asked the doctor if he could give her 30mg of oxycodone or something in that vacinity. He said oxycodone do not come in any higher doses than 5 mg and that my friend was young enough and shouldn be in that much pain. He had no idea as well as no compassion for this woman. I would like to see Dr. Weaver have one of his testicles removed, have poison pumped into his body 4 different times, and then have a doctor tell him he's not in pain and is just an addict. Don't go to this group. There are many more oncologists in tampa that have a little compassion and won't tell you whether or not you are in pain.
